National Professional Qualifications

National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) are nationally recognised professional development programmes accredited by the Department for Education (DfE).

Our next cohort is expected to be in Autumn 2026.

The programmes;

  • last between 12-18 months.
  • are delivered through a combination of online and face-to-face sessions, and online self-study. 
  • are focused on a specialist area of school leadership.

Inspiration Teaching School Hub are proud to be partnering with Best Practice Network (BPN) and the National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) to deliver our NPQ programmes.  

Please complete our Expression of Interest form: we may be able to advise you to choose a particular Lead Provider depending on the availability of NPQ funded places.   

 

Specialist programmes

NPQ in Leading Teaching

For teachers who have, or are aspiring to have, responsibilities for leading teaching in a subject, year group, key stage or phase. Develop your ability to guide and improve the practice of those you work with to help the children in your school to achieve their potential.

NPQ in Leading Behaviour and Culture

For teachers who have, or are aspiring to have, responsibilities for leading behaviour and/or supporting pupil wellbeing in their school. Learn how to create a culture of good behaviour and high expectations in which staff and pupils can thrive.

Leadership programmes

NPQ in Senior Leadership

For school leaders who are, or are aspiring to be, a senior leader with cross-school responsibilities. Develop your leadership knowledge and expertise to improve outcomes for teachers and pupils in your school.

NPQ in Headship

For school leaders who are, or are aspiring to be, a headteacher or head of school with responsibility for leading a school. Develop the knowledge that underpins expert school leadership and apply it to become an outstanding headteacher.

NPQ for SENCOs

This course is designed for current, or aspiring, SENCOs, and experienced teachers and leaders who are seeking to develop their expertise in leading special educational needs and disability (SEND) provision in their school.

NPQ for Early Years Leadership

This course is designed for anyone working in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) leadership, including nursery managers, headteachers or leaders of school-based or maintained nurseries, childminders with leadership responsibilities, reception teachers, or early years co-ordinators.
